The Program

At The Rock Preschool we aim to provide a program that gives a wide range of stimulating activities within the security of a daily routine. The overall goal of the program is to provide the children with an environment that will help them develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively. The daily program is based on the children’s interests and skills, and aims to foster the children’s learning in a positive and supportive environment as they prepare for school. The program uses The Early Years Learning Framework – Belonging, Being and Becoming (EYLF) to guide provisions made for children.

Belonging

Children experiencing belonging will know where and with whom they belong. Children belong first to a family, a cultural group, a neighbourhood and a wider community. Belonging acknowledges children’s interdependence with others and the basis of relationships in defining identities.

Being

Childhood is a time to be, seek and make meaning to the world. Being recognises the significance of the here and now in children’s lives. It is about the present and the knowing themselves, building and maintaining relationships with others, engaging with life’s joys and complexities, and meeting challenges in everyday life.

Becoming

Children’s identities, knowledge, understandings, capacities, skills and relationships change during childhood. They are shaped by many different events and circumstances. Becoming reflects this process of rapid and significant change that occurs in the early years as young children learn to grow.

Above all Preschool should be fun!
